    Ongoing training is important in any corporate environment, but it is particularly critical in a small business, as the owner(s) and employees of a small business often come from diverse business backgrounds (often other small businesses), and have significant gaps in their knowledge and experience.  This is due to the small business environment.  In a small company, each individual may fill multiple, constantly-changing roles.  While this flexibility creates highly-adaptable employees, it also creates employees (and owners) who lack the deep knowledge and insight that can only come from holding a narrow, clearly-defined role for several years within a larger organization. 

Business Planning

    Business Planning services include not only writing business plans for start up companies, but also developing long-term plans and expansion business plans for existing companies.

Strategic Planning

    Often thought of as something done only by large Fortune 500 companies, Strategic Planning involves determining a company's target position or goal within a market.  This is where a company attempts to answer questions such as:

  • What is it good at?

  • What is it not good at?

  • Where is the market/industry heading in 1, 3, 5, and 10 years?

  • How will it react if or when X happens (e.g., new competitive threat, change in laws, expiring patent, death of the founder, etc.)?    

Marketing Strategy

    A great idea will only get you so far, as many inventors have discovered over the years.  Aside from writing a business plan, developing a Marketing Strategy is the second most important step a small business can take.  A marketing strategy is more than just an advertising budget - it defines how a company will compete in the marketplace, and even defines who the company is to its customers / consumers / clients.
